The Shiatsu Practitioners' Association of Aotearoa New Zealand,(SPAANZ), is New Zealand's professional Shiatsu organisation.
SPAA is non-profit and promotes all styles of Shiatsu without preference.
As well as supporting and authorising the several Shiatsu training schools in New Zealand, the Shiatsu Association has a directory of fully qualified professional practitioners and therapists.
In New Zealand you will find several types including: Zen Shiatsu, Tao Shiatsu, and Namakoshi Shiatsu. All have their individual qualities, while sharing the distinct Japanese and traditional healing foundations which make Shiatsu bodywork unique.
A SPAA registered practitioner has been trained under New Zealand Charter of Health practitioner guidelines, with a minimum of 1600 hours practical and theoretical study over a three-year period.
